It has been predicted by industry experts that around 30% of the middleware market will be made up of ‘paid for’ Open Source Software by 2015. In fact, a survey carried out by 451 Research alongside North Bridge Venture Partners and Black Duck Software on The Future of Open Source Software showed that almost a third of (30%) of respondents believed that OSS would make up between half and 75% or more of their deployed code.
These analyst predictions match our own experiences – over the past 18 months, Tier 2 Consulting has seen demand steadily increasing for not only open source middleware but also Web and database technologies. As a result, the technical consultancy, training and skills transfer services that we offer are also growing – particularly around the JBoss Middleware technologies, such as the Enterprise Application Server, SOA-Platform and Business Rules Management System (BRMS). JBoss is the middleware technology platform from Red Hat, the world’s must trusted provider of Linux and Open Source technology.
To meet this increasing demand, and to further build upon our JBoss Advanced Partner status, we have created a dedicated JBoss Middleware Consultancy Practice. Headed by Ian Page, a highly-experienced middleware consultant, certified JBoss Systems Administrator and trainer, this team will provide clients with expert abilities to support those that are wishing to exploit the advantages of the JBoss Enterprise Middleware offerings. Some of the services they are able to provide include the migration of applications from one platform across to JBoss, server health checks and JBoss administration advice.
Since our inception in 2002, we have always focussed primarily on helping our clients create systems across a range of sectors and we are proud to count GlaxoSmithKline, Suzuki, Lloyd’s of London, and King’s College London amongst some of our customers. If you are interested in speaking with one of our consultants why not get in touch with us now to see if we can help you out.
